Emerson Mahoney

Head Golf Professional

Emerson joined the Brampton team as Head Golf Professional in 2009. Growing up in Hamilton, Ontario, Emerson was introduced to the game of golf by his father, chauffeuring the golf cart at the age of 10 before sunrise around the Mount Hope Golf Club. His introduction to the business of golf started at a young age, cleaning clubs and carts at the Kings Forest G.C. Three years apprenticing under Ian Clarke at the Glendale G&CC (1993-1996) and seven years for Rob McDannold and the famed Hamilton G&CC (1996-2003) laid the groundwork for his appointment as Head Golf Professional at Niakwa Country Club (2003-2008) in Winnipeg, Manitoba. “The Brampton Way,” his service team’s vision, has resulted in numerous awards including the 2008 Ping National “Club Fitters of the Year”, 2006 & 2007 Manitoba PGA “Merchandisers of the Year” and the 2004-2007 Ping Regional “Club Fitters of the Year”. Emerson is an accomplished player and teacher, winning professional events in both Manitoba and Ontario. He enjoys working with students of all skill levels. 


Brad Lawrence

Associate Professional

Born and raised in Mississauga Brad’s journey in golf started as a 10-year-old at the PGA Learning Centre in Oakville where he spent his summers learning to love the game of golf.  In 2006, he started in the golf industry working for Gar Hamilton at the Mississauga Golf and Country Club until 2012.  In 2013, he moved from Mississauga to Weston Golf and Country Club as the Associate Professional working for Colin Imrie.  Under both Gar and Colin, he learned how to provide a world-class service for the membership. 


From 2015 to 2017 he worked with some of Canada’s premier coaches honing his skills as a Golf Coach and Instructor.  In his spare time, Brad likes to study everything from the latest trends in golf equipment to biomechanics and functional training.  An accomplished teacher his students have competed in multiple US Kids World Championships, Provincial and National Championships.  He has been nominated twice for the PGA of Ontario’s Junior Leader of The Year Award (2012 and 2016).  


Brian McCann

Associate Professional

Brian joined the Brampton team in 2014. Growing up in Mississauga, Ontario, Brian started playing golf at the age of 6 with his father at the former Georgetown Golf Club. Brian became the #1 ranked Junior, and Amateur in Ontario, and attended Arkansas State University, where he graduated with a degree in Business Administration.


Brian played Professional Golf on the PGA Tour Canada from 1999- 2003, and the Web.Com Tour from 2004-06. Brian also competed in the 2006 Buick Invitational and the 2007 & 2012 Canadian Open.


In 2008, Brian embarked on a career coaching golfers of all abilities at Braeben Golf Club, where he remained until he came to Brampton in 2014. Brian continues to play in PGA of Ontario and PGA of Canada events. He was the former #1 ranked player in the PGA of Canada, and 2014, 2015, and 2016 Ontario Player of the Year.


Sonny Sagoo

Associate Professional

Going into his 6th year as a Golf Professional, Sonny’s overall skill set within the industry will further add to the exceptional team at Brampton GC. Sonny inherited his passion for the game of golf from his father at the age of 11. His love for the game grew as the years progressed. Sonny played on the Rick Hansen Secondary School Golf Team receiving the M.V.P. award two years in a row. After placing in the top 10 through several events on the Canadian Junior Golf Association tour, and with a win in the Championship division on the GTA Amateur Tour, he made the quick decision to take his game to the next level.

In 2012, Sonny entered the sanctioned PGA of Canada Playing Ability Test Qualifying at Cambridge Golf Club where he placed 7th overall and started his career in the golf industry.
His skills within the industry grew when he made the move to Canmore, Alberta where he worked as an Assistant Golf Professional at Silvertip Resort in 2013. In 2015, Sonny went on to become the Golf Tournament and Events Coordinator at Silvertip Resort. Sonny’s knowledge, organization, and professionalism benefitted him greatly in his role as the Golf Tournament and Events Coordinator. Sonny is eager to employ his industry knowledge and skill set to the professional team’s operation at Brampton Golf Club, to add to the positive experience of all members and guests.
